Grace Lutheran Church and School is proud to offer the National Scrip Program for our church and school families to benefit our ministry opportunities and to benefit our families in helping with the cost of tuition. Scrip is a national non-profit organization that assists organizations like ours in the generation of revenue.
Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”. When you purchase Scrip you are purchasing gift certificates that are used just like cash. Scrip is available for many of the retailers and outlets that you probably shop at or dine at. Scrip can purchase everyday items like food, clothing, gas and other essentials. With every purchase revenue is generated.
How does Scrip generate revenue? The Scrip center purchases
large amounts of Scrip from the retailers. The Scrip is
purchased with cash upfront; therefore, participating
retailers offer a substantial discount. Grace buys the Scrip
from the Scrip Center at a discount, resells the
certificates at face value to you. The discounted price can
range from 2-15%. This discount is then retained as revenue
and is credited to your family’s Grace Lutheran School or
Lutheran High School tuition account. For example, if you
buy $100 of a retailer that is listed at 5%, you will
receive $5 toward your tuition account.
