Hello! My name is Jay Wriedt, and I am blessed to be the middle school mathematics instructor at Grace Lutheran. God has led me on an amazing journey. I have led, coached, and taught children in numerous capacities since I was a freshman in high school. I desired to become a teacher, but my high school guidance counselor steered me in another direction, stating there would be a shortage of teaching jobs when I graduated. (He was wrong; there was a shortage of teachers.)
Listening to his guidance, I received a degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I worked in the business world in various capacities for 17 years. After a successful business career, with God’s nudging and my wife’s blessing, I pursued my passion to teach. I obtained my teaching certification and followed God’s lead to the incredible privilege of teaching in Christian education.
I have taught middle school math, social studies, the Bible, personal economics, and physical education. For five years I was the Head of School for Eastbrook Academy. I retired from that position because I desired to be back in the classroom working directly with students.
My wife, Lynn, and I live in Pewaukee. We have three adult children, Nicole, Betsy, and Jenny. Yes, I am outnumbered by the females in our home. I have a passion for sharing God’s love with young people. Lynn and I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and spending time in the mountains. I love sports, with a passion for volleyball.
I am grateful to be part of the amazing staff at Grace Lutheran, and I am blessed to be part of the Grace community.
