About Us

Grace is a family growing in Christ while reaching out in love.

Family

Worship
COmmunity
Generosity

"But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God."

John 1:12-13

As believers in Christ, we belong to God’s family through baptism. Grace strives to be a church of families, for families, in order to equip God’s people to be on mission in ministry together. We extend to one another unconditional love, forgiveness, acceptance, and accountability in the midst of our sins, struggles, faults, failures, celebrations, and joys.

Growing

Engage Scripture
Equip for Ministry

"But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their power of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil."

Hebrews 5:14

As disciples of Christ, we are called to continually grow in our faith and actions wherever we are in our walk with God. The Holy Spirit uses Scripture, prayer, and worship to mature and shape disciples. He surrounds us with others on this journey to lead us, encourage us, challenge us, mentor us, and inspire us to move forward in our faith and to use our unique spiritual gifts.

Reaching

Care
Personal Witness

"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace."

1 Peter 4:10

As a Spirit-filled church, we are called to reach out in love toward those in our community as God builds His Kingdom among us. We reach out in His love (agape), because this is what Jesus did for us, changing lives through His life, death, and resurrection. Grace was established as a mission outpost to demonstrate this love through service, witness, outreach, and generosity, intentionally inviting those who are far from Christ and caring for those around us.

Family Covenant

We commit to faithfully following God forward by:

Worshipping weekly with our Grace family
Giving generously toward our mission and ministries
Caring for our congregation and community members
Utilizing God-given gifts to serve the church and community
Investing in community through small groups and fellowship
Witnessing personally to the Gospel with family, co-workers & friends
Engaging the Scriptures regularly in Bible study and devotional life

At Grace, we strive to be a church of families, for families to equip God's baptized believers to be on mission in ministry together.

As followers of Christ, we continually grow in our faith through God's Word and His gifts as He shapes His disciples. As a Spirit-filled church, we reach out in Christ's love toward those in our community as the Holy Spirit changes lives and builds His Kingdom. As a mission outpost, we intentionally invite in those who are far from Christ as we care for one another using our unique spiritual gifts.

“We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love for everyone of you for one another is increasing.” 2 Thessalonians 1:3

A Legacy of Faith and Growth Since 1933

We are a church blessed for more than 85 years with the wonderful acts of our gracious God. Through every season, God works through the ministry of Grace Lutheran Ministries.

The Beginning

In June 1933, Grace Lutheran Church was formally organized. Seeds of faith were planted years before that sprouted a congregation that to this day boldly proclaims the love of Jesus Christ. At this same time, Grace members had a strong desire to start a Christian Day School.

The Start of School Ministry

After 16 years, in June 1949, the congregation resolved to establish a Christian Day School; 30 years later a Christian Day School was built. In the fall of 1963, classes began with 71 children. Grace School was yet another way to share, teach, and proclaim the Gospel.

Recent Developments

In 2008, Grace Lutheran Church celebrated 75 years of sharing Christ. Grace School, with more than 225 children enrolled, celebrated 45 years of teaching and sharing the Gospel message. In 2011, we completed construction on our new church located on Highway Q. This site has our Sanctuary, offices and Commons.

Looking Onward

Future plans include ministry facility expansion at the Cross View Way campus.

What We Believe

Grace is more than just our name, grace is the love and forgiveness that God has for us, even though we do not deserve it. God sent His Son to suffer, die and rise again for us, so that we might receive the gift of salvation, and the opportunity to live with Him forever in heaven. As a response to that gift which God has given us, we reach out to one another and to our community with His love and promises that tells us of forgiveness and new life. That message lies at the heart of our mission and ministry here at Grace Lutheran Ministries.

Our congregation is a member of The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS).  Click to read more about our beliefs about Holy Baptism and Holy Communion.

The LCMS accepts the Scriptures as the inspired and inerrant Word of God. The LCMS has its roots in the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century led by Martin Luther. The teachings of Luther can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.

Grace alone

The Biblical teaching that there is no other way to gain heaven except by the love God has for us, enough love that He sent His son Jesus to die in our stead.

FAITH ALONE

The Biblical teaching that a human being is justified (set free of all sin) by the atoning work of Jesus Christ. We are saved solely by faith, without the deeds of the Law.

SCRIPTURE ALONE

The Biblical teaching that there is no other source for our understanding of God's grace and love except in the Bible, God's Word.
